While doing some checking on Advanced Access’ prior history of ‘blackouts’, I came across their March 2002 Newsletter which shows the dedication they had back when they were privately owned and interested in ‘keeping’ their clients rather than losing them. Here is what their newsletter said:

It seems like Advanced Access can’t seem to keep the lights on lately with sites going down all over the place! It’s only been a few days since their last incident of outages that was never explained to their clients.

As expected, the answer for the latest daylong meltdown at Advanced Access was simply the following post by Customer Support:
“We’d like to thank you for your patience and let you know that all services are back up and running at this time.”
No explanation, no reason given for the downtime, no guarantee that the same thing [...]
