Not A Good Day At Advanced Access!
Well folks, here we go again! Many Advanced Access sites are down again, starting in the AM and still down in the later part of the day. No answers posted in the forum from Support as to what the problem is but if this is a look into the new year, it’s not very encouraging! As your Moderator, my own site has been down since mid-morning and is still down as the sun is setting. Just another reason to stear clear of hosting your real estate website with this company!
Now instead of a Runtime error, the following appears:
ERROR!
You have reached an error. We are aware of the problem and are currently working on fixing it. Please return to home page.

The programming department just added a bunch of new features to the Virtual Office 4.0 page manager. I have noticed that when new features get added, sites tend go down. Today I only heard about a few sites that went down, but a lot of sites were behaving slower then normal. I’m not sure what the problem is, but it’s affecting both 3.0 and 4.0 sites.
I heared rumors that they hired a guy to beta test the updates before they get released. Hopefully this will cut down the number of hiccups that keep occuring. I will say the programing department has their hands full with a big project that’s due to go live very soon.
Gene- How much longer are you going to subject yourself to this treatment from AA?
It’s been almost a year since black Monday … I’ve read a handful of posts on to the forums about continued outages. I cannot understand why so many Realtors are so forgiving of this company and continue to pay them for hosting.
AA is NOT what is used to be and never will be that way again.
One lead lost is too many and AA is certainly not helping you or anyone else get them or keep them with the continued outages.
Don’t know who the anonymous presidential posters here are but really what they are saying is so much old news…AA has been promising the new platform for how long now? Always with a new bug - even before it gets released!
It’s really a shame that with all the money they make they cannot seem to hire even one proficient programmer that can get a handle on what is going on over there. By the time they fix the multitude of problems they have with the new and improved 4.0 will be last years model and probably already is.
” I will say the programing department has their hands full with a big project that’s due to go live very soon.” blow some more smoke AA.
Wishing you success for 2008 Gene.
As a recent 6 year employee (Regional Sales Director & National Speaker) of AA I can tell you that things are not going to get any better.
btw… new target for 4.0 upgrade to all clients has become 1st quarter 09…
Hey Juan, how ya doin’? Been a while since we were office neighbors.
I just wanted to back up Juan here. I am a former manager of the IDX/MLS Dept., and I can tell you that things will most likely not get better.
From what I observed during my time there, it seemed that new programmers would come on board, realize what an absolute mess everything is and leave not wanting to deal with it. I don’t beleive any of the programmers are incompetent or lazy - they are simply given the task to fix major issues left by the programmers before them. That cycle is why you as the AA client don’t get things fixed.
I’m also an ex employee of Advanced Access but I was in the Website Marketing (cough) Department. I was (and still am thanks to high up insiders) very familiar with what was going on. You’ve already heard that it won’t get any better and it really truly won’t. Justin is to busy trying to save money than retain clients and fix the overall problems. His head is up corporates ass. Now Aron Spegon, Director of Customer Service, wants to put all liability on the clients to help reduce the expectations of AA. New clients no longer have someone helping them with their new website. They have to do it all on their own. Shitty business practice? I think so… and so do many more.
I bet John and Jerra are pissed at the downfall of this company.
I left AA after three years in December 2007 because of their lack of concern for existing employees needs (and then some), the way I was forced to treat our Marketing Clients, and for the way the company was turning out to be. I wanted to work for a reputable company. When I told them that, I didn’t mean bad reputation.
I am now self employeed and serving clients the way they should be served and giving them the support they need to become a success WITHOUT Advanced Access.
I can help you get away from them without royally screwing up your rankings if you have a 4.0 site. If you have a 3.0 site, it will have an effect but the long run wil be better for you.
